The Environmental Game Design Playbook (EGDP) is a flagship publication of the International Game Developers Association Climate SIG. The report aggregates existing research and design practice to synthesize, analyze, and provide recommendations on how scientific research, education best practice, and game design theory can inform a meaningful and impactful game design.


The United Nations Green Game Jam (Research)
Efficacy research on massive-scale game design for change.
This research project was commissioned by the United Nations Environmental Programme to determine the efficacy of green game designs created by studios participating in its Green Game Jam. The team worked with three globally recognized game studios that chose to include green messaging in their most popular titles. The goal of the research was to determine the likelihood of scalable behavior change and make recommendations on future designs.
Project Learning Tree Survey of Use
National-level user research for environmental educators.
Project Learning Tree is an internationally recognized outdoor education curriculum design team. The team commissioned a research project to determine its users' experiences with the lessons, the delivery platforms, and professional development.


DELRE
A language learning game.
A first-of-its-kind ESL language game designed to replace the traditional language course workbooks at Dankook University in Cheonan, South Korea. The project involved substantial pre and post-development research to track the user needs, experience, and efficacy of the designs.

Course Insights 2.0
A student-facing learning analytics portal.
Course insights is a PSU instructor-facing learning analytics platform designed to give instructors the data they need to make fact-driven changes to their pedagogy. The unnamed v2.0 of Course Insights is a student-facing portal currently in the pre-production research phase.
